Every east wedding seems to have its own unique qualities. The typical “catering hall cookie cutter wedding” simply does not exist on the east end. Emma and Steve wedding had the qualities of elegance, class, simplicity and love.
Most weddings take place on a Saturday night. However Emma and Steve selected a mid July Sunday morning with an eleven start. The ceremony, cocktail hour and brunch reception all took place at Emma's grandmother's beautiful waterfront home on Shelter Island.
The ceremony was filled with words of unconditional love and tears of joy as Emma and Steve made their lifetime commitment to each other.
Event planner Debbie Geppert and Dreesen's
Catering designed a magnificent Sunday brunch. It had everything from fresh fruits and berries to omelet stations and filet mignon with an outrageous desserts of fresh pies and fruit tarts. The music played by East End Entertainment's DJ Michael, embraced the sun filled day with classical selections for ceremony, while the cocktail hour featured many great timeless American standards from artists like Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin, Tony Bennett and Dean Martin. For the reception under the tent supplied by NY Tent, Michael spun a blend of Ingrid Michaelson, Jack Johnson like tracks to popular sing-a-long tunes and fun dance music. The intimate gathering of guests traveled from all over the country to witness and celebrate the marriage Emma and Steve. It was truly a lovely day.

Shelter Island is truly a magical place…especially for a wedding.
I am so excited to share Emma & Steve’s beautiful wedding held at Emma’s Grandmother’s house – which was just one of the components that made this wedding so unique and heartfelt.
Some of the other ingredients being: Emma the bride made her own wedding gown. Emma is a nature lover and created a simulated pond of Lily Pads on her wedding gown train. I love that Emma transported her dress form mannequin with her to Shelter Island.
Her majestic Samoyed dog named Kozue, a wonderful family and an incredible location for bride and groom portraits in the late afternoon.
The floral design was wonderful. – creating gorgeous bouquets, boutonnieres and a breathtaking ceremony arch of baby breath – positioning it just so in accordance with the location of the sun.
Congratulations Emma & Steve.
