Over the past 24 years in the wedding and special event industry, some might think I have seen it all. However each celebration seems to have its own uniqueness and that is what makes performing atweddings and events so fulfilling.
Roberta and Allen met just nine months prior to their wedding day while playing bridge. I don't know much about bridge yet, but Roberta informed me that Allen was on the North/South side and she was on the East/West side. While playing bridge, she noticed Allen had tucked a pencil between his glasses and his head. This started one of their first conversations about how they had a friend who worked as a butcher. He would hold the pencil same way. After learning that Allen's wife had passed away a couple years ago, she knew it was time for him to join her East/West in bridge and in marriage.
The western Nassau couple traveled to the eastern part of Long Island to celebrate their wedding day at Duck Walk Vineyards in Southold. It was a beautiful sunset wedding ceremony. Their family members led the processional. First, their eight grandchildren carried the wedding chuppah followed by their own children. Roberta was escorted down the aisle by her son. She looked gorgeous wearing a light beige gown with golden highlights.
Nearly one hundred, close family members and friends gather to celebrate the union of Roberta and Allen. Age certainly did not stop everyone having a fabulous time. Guests enjoyed the delicious catering by East End Events Catering and the tunes I was spinning. Roberta and Allen were even chair lifted for the Horah. It seemed everything line up perfectly.
